OralChroma is an innnovative piece of chromatography hardware used to detect three different gases which contribute to halitosis. I have worked in the field of chromatography as an instrumentation engineer for over 10 years, and I'd like to issue a word of warning. Due to the inadequate software of ...

I have tested negative for Celiac Which kinds of tests did you have? Blood, saliva, stool, urine - and what has exactly been tested? Did you have biopsy of the small intestine? If yes, did the people who performed the biopsy take samples from different areas? I just had a blood test for the Celiac ...

Has anyone in the US tried this test yet?: http://www.intestinalbarriertest.com/pdf/Why-Test-For-Food-Antibodies_Vojdani.pdf http://www.intestinalbarriertest.com/ I think I'm gonna try it when I'm over there in August. I have tested negative for Celiac but this is a better test and for all kinds of ...

My breath also seems to be at its worst when my saliva is very thick too. And I have recently been diagnosed with reflux and an ulcer, so Phantasist and Halitosisux may be onto something. But there are other considerations when comparing what makes one person's saliva different from another. I think...

Hey Mike, Have you heard of Ken Yaegaki of Nippon Dental University? He is a world expert on halitosis, President of ISBOR. I'm not sure if he sees patients, but worth getting in contact with. He may be running trials, you never know. I've heard you say in the past that you find it hard getting thro...

Thanks Pottymouth 8) ...but which device should I get, instead of the OralChroma..? Going for *one* test at a clinic isn't very useful. I need to test myself regularly, in order to find out what makes the breath better/worse... I'm not saying don't ever get one. But I recommend you wait until I hea...

Potty_mouth, I can't remember if I've asked you this already, but can a GC be used to measure the amount of TMA in a breath sample? If it can, then can a GC be used to diagnose whether a form of TMAU is responsible for a person's breath odour? Yes, these guys appear to have done it: http://iopscien...

Will a machine like the OralChroma detect bad breath caused by TMAU? http://www.fisinc.co.jp/en/products/oralchroma.html No, unfortunately it won't. The Mebo research test being conducted with Menssana should show up these gases. I think they will be conducting tests in London, which is probably th...

I read somewhere that almost all wasabi (even in Japan) isn't actually made from the real wasabi plant because it's quite rare (although it may still say wasabi on the packet!). Instead it's just horseradish /mustard/ food colouring. The actual wasabi plant is supposed to have anti-microbial propert...

Hi All, I would hold off buying one for now. I'm a gas chromatography engineer and am currently helping Mebo with their breath test study. I'm in direct contact with Fisinc at the moment about unsatisfactory performance of the OralChroma. Last time I had the OralChroma test I asked the dentist's ass...

http://www.hexagonlimited.com/dental_bana_zyme.htm This test is referred to in some literature I've been reading, so some of the scientific community must have adopted it. It sounds like a promising tool to help check for halitosis microbes but then I read a past post from Aydinmur that said it was...

As much as I tell myself "I've tried everything", I have to admit that I haven't ever given water-flossing a proper go. I bought one in the US once, and when I got it back to the UK I plugged it in to 240V and fried it! (yes I'm an engineer.. I was having a bad day, LOL). But yeah I get th...

Yes I do. I have always been told that they are "taste buds" and that everyone has them. I noticed that if you scrape them too much your sense of taste is temporarily low, and they can bleed sometimes too, so now I take more care.

Hey Mike, The proper advice with drug interactions is ask your doctor. From what I can find out, Zantac only interacts with CYP450 enzymes and these are only implicated in metabolism of lipids, steroidal hormones, and xenobiotic substances (drugs and other toxic chemicals). Everything on your list l...
