where is it coming from?

Post by Candy »

I know I have bb but I'm not sure if its coming from inside my mouth, my stomach, or throat. I have a sore throat everyday, stuffy nose, headaches, slight fever and neck pain. So i thought maybe that it was a sinus infection. I have social anxiety real bad and Its so frustrating because I finally work up enough courage to go to the doctor and get checked out. The doctor tells me I have allergies and gave me flonase and some allergy pills. She looked in my mouth felt my neck but she didn't look too bothered about my breath. She acted like she doesn't smell it. She did say my tonsils were swollen,my nose was inflamed and my thyroid felt irritated. So I was still thinking I have a sinus infection. I went back and just asked for antibiotics but another doctor said no they dont just give out antibiotics. He gave me a strep throat test that took 2 minutes said it was negative and I went home. I know he smelled my breath because he was holding his breath and backed away a bit.

So i waited 2 weeks and i went to the emergency room. This time I had a little trouble swallowing because of my sore throat, neck pain, lump in throat clicking when i swallow.
The doctor had a bit of an attitude i guess because i dont have health insurance, he said right out "well what did your primary care doctor say" I told him they said it might be allergies and he said well that's probably it. Then he checked my neck, inside my mouth and that's it he didn't seem too bothered by my breath either like the first doctor. He said my tonsils are to big for my mouth but everything looks normal. He also said i might have anemia and that i should go to the clinic for blood work.

Yesterday I went to my mothers house and told her about my bad breath and that day she said she didn't smell anything but i know she usually does because when shes near me and i dont open my mouth she says "whats stinks?" So anyway later on i was eating near my brother and he was about 3 feet away and he says "something stinks". I know that when i am chewing or eating it gets worse. Later on when I get home I tell my sister this and she says that she never noticed my breath stinks. I was totally shocked because I always thought she hinted my breath stunk. I know she's not lying cause she says she would tell me. Maybe she' s just used to it.

I do have really loud stomach noises that people can hear,I burp a lot and sometimes when i burp I throw up a little in my mouth, hunger pains after i eat and before i eat, bloating and constipation. So i kinda think the smell is either my wisdom teeth or caused by acid reflux, peptic ulcers and H.pylori. I also notice if I cough sometimes I can taste it and my throat feels raw like food and pills get stuck in there. Another thing is when I drink any type of alcohol my breath gets way worse even up to the next day. That makes me lean towards acid reflux with peptic ulcers.

I was wondering could it be coming from my stomach or mouth? I do have problems with my back tooth sometimes but when i keep it clean the smell goes away. I also wonder why some people can smell it buts some dont?

Maybe you have intermittent BB?

You have a lot to go on. Start with the simple things like ruling out h.pylori and making sure you don't have anything wrong with your teeth or gums - which it doesn't sound as if you've yet to rule out.

Don't allow yourself to be fobbed off by doctors who don't take this problem seriously. Make a list of tests you would like to have, like checking your thyroid and liver functions and the blood tests which would pick up the anaemia. If you think your sinuses are an issue, then you need to be seen by a specialist ENT doctor.

I think doctors do intimidate me very easily. I feel like I let them walk all over me when it comes to my problems. I get a little flustered like a mental confusion and i forget to tell them some of my symptoms because of my anxiety. I did go to the dentists years ago with my bb even though it wasn't as bad and he told me my teeth were fine and only thing he would suggest is a cleaning but he did mention my teeth were growing in crooked on the x-ray and that he might have to "break my jaw". You are right though I going to have to muster up some courage and go to the doctor again and a dentist soon. I going to write down what i want to be tested for and print out some information. But I'm still wondering if it was a tooth problem, why would alcohol and certain foods make my breath instantly worse? So i do kinda think the problem is my throat or stomach.

Also I did have Hyperparathyroidism years ago along with bb that wasn't as bad. As soon as I had the surgery I can feel my throat and mouth felt clean and less hot, the bb was gone for years. I know for sure because i was able to talk really close to people with no reaction and also breathed in their face and asked and said they didn't smell anything. Years later now its back again. So I think I gonna get the doctor to check my calcium levels too.

I dont really keep track of my carbs but i dont eat breakfast and only have small meals throughout the day. I dont eat dairy and I cant have fruit because I'm allergic to mostly every fruit apples, oranges, strawberries, etc. I eat mostly eggs, oatmeal, crackers,pb&j sandwiches, chicken, fish and brown rice.

I used to get tonsil stones years ago all the time and actually cough them up but not anymore.Maybe because I dont eat dairy anymore.

My wisdom tooth is trying to come out but it only pokes through the side of my other tooth not from the top but from the side. I thought it might be the problem too but i can taste the bb in my throat most of the time like when i cough or clear my throat. Also when i keep it clean i put my finger on it and no smell i swiped my finger around my whole gum line and no smell. The tooth gum doesn't hurt or have any redness. Also why is my breath worse when i drink alcohol, can a tooth react from alcohol? I also notice when i literally swallow/eat a couple of pinches of baking soda people cant smell my bad breath.

Tonsils can harbor stones, even of you can't see them and aren't coughing them up. If your tonsils are red and swollen, stones could be hidden in them.

Don't drink alcohol. Eat less carbs and sugar... See if that helps. Sounds like your BB may be related. Especially with your compounding symptoms of throat and gut problems.

Yeah, It could be tonsil stones in my throat and tonsils because i always feel a lumpiness in my throat and food feeling stuck in there. When I had surgery years ago the bad breath went away. When I woke up i didn't have the bad taste in my mouth. Maybe when they put the tube in my throat it pushed down the stones. When i used to have dairy my breath was also way worse. I also still have a lot of sugar in my tea and such.Gonna try to cut back on the sugar and carbs see if that helps.

I definitively think this is a stomach problem now after reading so many other people with the same symptoms.
I forgot that I had this bb problem 6 or 7 years ago and cured it.
I'm also having all the symptoms I had years earlier

-sore throat
-burping
-high food intolerance
-stomach noises
-hunger pains before and after eating
-drinking alcohol and ibuprofen makes bb worse
- extreme bloating
-motion sickness
-chest pain after eating
- constipation

I'm starting to remember that when i had this problem I went to the doctors and they said I had acid reflux and strep throat. They gave me antibiotics and my bb went away. I notice that any time I drink anything with slight alcohol my bb was worse even cough syrup. I have the feeling like I am literally drinking acid and my throat is really sore. I also noticed when I started taking a lot of ibuprofen on an empty stomach for my cramps I could taste my bb even worse, like sewage in my throat and my stomach would make noise and hurt bad like I was dying.
So i think I damaged my stomach lining and throat with all the ibuprofen and drinking maybe giving me acid reflux with peptic ulcer and H. pylori. I dont think I noticed it was getting worse because I was ignoring all the symptoms and went back to thinking it was sinus or a tooth problem which could also be symptoms from acid reflux. So maybe when they gave me antibiotics for my strep it got rid of some h. pylori in my stomach. My only problem now is my insurance ran out and having to get tested.

I dont want to jinx myself but I think my bb is mostly gone. I still get a bad taste in my mouth some mornings, mostly if I have dairy though but when i brush it goes away now. I haven't had any comments on it like I use to like from my mother mostly who would tell me all the time. I'm not sure what worked because I took a lot of stuff to help my acid reflux along with antibiotics.I really do think the antibiotics worked though. I also starting coughing up a lot of tonsil stones in the morning and one formed on my tonsil. I just hope it stays gone.

Hey i read ur post very carefully .its clear that u have 2 main problems .
one is digestive and other is sinus .
but you didnt say about tongue malodour .if you dont have a direct tongue related problem you can cure urself fully .
talking about blood tests u mentioned , u may do them but i dont think its necessary .
talking abouut h-pylori my friend lemme tell you that almost all of us have that bug .
trust me its not your problem .
now i thiink ur constipation is somehow causing ur acid reflux problems so very first thing u do is the colon cleansing .u can use epsom salt like billie said .or U take gooseberry powder ((amla) with water and after some time u get a big bowel movement . u do it then with probiotics and yogurt for some 4-5 days . then ur digestive problems are vanished .
now ur sinus problem .do neti pot with only heavy salt water 2-3 times a day .after 3 days ur sinuses should be completly cleared .u will not have that stuffy nose after if you take care and do it regularly .

now comes your throat i dont know iif you have tonsil problems .just rub your fingers deeply on tonsils ,if u get poopy smell then you have tonsil problem AND YOU ARE LIKELY TO HAVE NASAL BB AS YOU EXHALED AIR PASSES THROUGH YOUR THROAT ALSO .
IN THIS CASE BY ANY WAYS YOU HAVE TO MAKE YOUR TONSILS AREA FREE FROM DEBRIS AND BACTERIA .
GOOD NEWS IS ITS NOT DIFFICULT AS THE SKIN LAYER IS PLANE AND NOT LIKE TONGUE .
IF U HAV STONES THEN GARGLLE YOUR THROAT WITH VINEGAR AS IT DISSOLVES TONSIL STONES .
U CAN DO ANYTHING LIKKE DIRECTLY PUTTING SALT ON TONSIL AREA TO KILL BACTERIA OR GARGLE THROAT WITH BETADINE .
DO THESE THINGS FOR A WEEK AND REPLY
GUD LUCK .
IF U HAVVE A DIRECT TONGUE DORSUM PROBLEM THAT U DIDNT DISCUS THEN U HAVE FOOD ODOUR WHILE EATIING .
